About the mission record
Mission information connects public explanations with scientific purpose, instrument context and the responsibilities of the expedition.
Mission purpose
Avenra belongs to Foundation46’s Expedition Science program. Its purpose is to study living systems through reconnaissance, remote observation and carefully planned field research. The mission follows patient observation, minimal disturbance and a complete scientific record.
Responsibilities
Mission leadership coordinates scientific planning, instrument preparation and readiness. Captain Mira Solano retains on-site operational authority. Ibis supports systems and records; it is separate from the three human crew members.
The ground team supports mission planning, instrument review and archive analysis. Operations records distinguish onboard decisions from later ground review and retain the transmission history. Flight chronology is maintained in the expedition operations record.
Scientific interpretation
The mission archive brings together instrument records, field interpretations and the planetary reference used by the expedition. An interpretation may change as new observations arrive; the underlying record remains available.
Gravity and orbital calculations use the mission reference values. Local conditions are assessed from instrument records. Atmospheric composition alone cannot establish the climate, exposure safety or the resources available to living systems.
Research notes distinguish a direct observation, a derived result and a working explanation. Unresolved identifications stay open until the record supports a stronger conclusion.
Publication and availability
Public observation material is selected after review. Quiet recordings are previously recorded and reviewed, not live feeds. Each release identifies its observation interval and relevant instrument conditions.
Records awaiting scientific review remain in the mission archive. Later releases may revise an identification or connect an acoustic contact with a visible source.
