Careers
Work across disciplines.
Contribute to a public purpose.
Foundation careers connect research with the practical work that makes it possible: instruments, data, field operations and international coordination.
Working here
Our teams include environmental scientists, engineers, research technicians, data stewards and program administrators. Some roles are based in a Foundation office; others connect with universities, field stations or expedition teams. Scientific work depends on colleagues who keep an instrument running or make a record usable.
Role profiles
Research data steward
Data stewards maintain instrument and processing metadata, coordinate access reviews and link corrections to original publications. Relevant experience includes research data management, preservation systems and collaboration with scientific teams.
Environmental field scientist
Field scientists connect remote measurements with conditions at a site. The role combines a scientific discipline with field methods, sampling and documentation. Teams work across institutions through Earth Environmental Monitoring.
Calibration engineer
Calibration engineers prepare and compare measurement systems. They help teams distinguish a change in the environment from a change in the instrument. Work includes comparison procedures, acceptance checks and support during field campaigns.
International program officer
Program officers coordinate review processes, research agreements and communication between offices. The work requires clear writing and careful management of scientific and operational commitments.
